RAM is known as Random Access Memory. It is the memory in your laptop which is responsible for the high speed and processing of your laptop. Usually high RAM makes the laptop faster and increase its processing speed. You might have observe that when you purchase a new laptop then the speed of your laptop is very fast as compared to the speed of your laptop after 1 or 2 years. The reason is, in the time span of 1 or 2 years,you
install several of programs,add movies, pictures, videos, audio in your laptop. So when you have to run a program it searches for that program from all of your data which slows its speed. RAM is used to execute several programs simultaneously on your laptop. If the speed of your laptop is going down,it means the time has come to increase your laptop's RAM!Choosing Right RAM for your Laptop:- In the market,there are several types of RAM having different sizes and memory like SRAM (Static Random Access Memory), DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory), SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory), DDR SDRAM (Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic RAM) etc. So first step in increasing or adding RAM in your Laptop is to select which kind of RAM is necessary or compatible with your laptop. If you are using a laptop for your simple daily routine work then RAM of 512Mb or 1Gb is sufficient for your system and if you are using your laptop for gaming purpose and to run several programs simultaneously then 2Gb or greater than 2 Gb of RAM is essential for your system.
Steps to add RAM to your Laptop:- Now we are ready to tell you the procedure of adding RAM to your laptop.
1. First of all make sure that your laptop is switched off and there is no any source of supply to your laptop.
2. Now search for the memory compartment door in your laptop. Usually it is located in the middle of underside of your laptop. It looks like a small window which is screwed at the four corners.
3. Take a proper screwdriver and open the memory door.
4. Before doing further investigation inside the memory door just have a look of your laptop's manual. Inside the memory door you will find two slots for RAM which may or may not be empty. If both of the slots are full then you have to remove a RAM module and replace it with the high memory RAM module. To eject the RAM module, just press the little ejector clip nearby the RAM slots. If there is a vacant place in one of the two slots then simply put your RAM module in that slot. It is simple to add the RAM into the slot. When you will press the RAM module into the slot, it will hold it firmly producing the sound of capturing the RAM module.
5. Now close the memory compartment door with the help of screwdriver and switch on your laptop. You will find the enormous increase in the processing of your laptop. It will run the programs and switch between the programs smoothly. Do your task and enjoy the enormous increase in the speed of your laptop!
