How to block websites in your Computer without any Software

Hello friends! In today's post, we will learn a useful trick in which you can easily block the access of one or more websites from your laptop or Computer. The reason of blocking can be anything like the virus or malware from a website, adult contents, some websites might steal your data etc. This would be very helpful if you don't want your child or anyone from your house to access the particular websites like face book, twitter, games websites,
adult sites etc. So, let's learn how to do this in just 5 simple steps.

Block Websites without using Software in 5 steps:-

Step 1:- Go to (C:) >>Windows >>system32 >>drivers >>etc. You can also do this step by

writing c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc in Run window.

(To open Run window, simply press window+r button or type run in the start location and select Run )

You will get the following screen after doing the above step.

Step 2:- Now right click on the hosts file and go to properties and uncheck the Read-only tab.

Step 3:-  Now go to Security tab adjacent to general tab and click on Edit.

Now select the administrative account of your computer (in my case, it is Users (sony-vaio\Users)) and make the tick for Full control, Modify, Read & execute, Read, Write as shown in the figure below.

After doing this step, click Ok. It will show another window like in the figure below. Just click  Yes again.

Step 4:- Now click on the hosts file and open it with Notepad.

Step 5:- Type 127.0.0.1 and in front of it type the name of the website you want to block. For example:- I want to block facebook and google on my computer then i would type like shown in the figure below.

You can add as many websites as you want to block on your system. After doing all these steps, you won't be able to access the above mentioned websites on your computer. 

In order to access the blocked websites, just delete the entry of that particular website from the hosts file.
